THE THREE HORSEMEN
In the days of old three horsemen were riding through the desert when they heard a voice boom: “STOP! Dismount from your horses and gather pebbles and stones”. Scared, the horsemen dismounted and did as the voice commanded. Then the voice boomed again. “You have acted wisely, you may proceed but keep the stones and pebbles with you and in the morning you will be both happy and sad”.
They quickly mounted their horses and rode off. Later that night, around their camp fire, they discussed what had happened. None of them understood the voice’s command, how could they be happy and sad, but they were still too scared to discard the stones and pebbles.
In the morning they awoke to find that the pebbles and stones had turned into diamonds, rubies and other precious stones. Then they remember what the voice had said: They were happy; happy that they had taken some. But they were also sad; sad they had not taken more …….
And this is the story of insurance.
