For those that would like to know a little about our history please read on.

Humble beginnings:

Metro Agency was established in 1959 by Chester Moore and Dan Harrison and was originally called, Harrison Moore Insurance Agency. Chet and Dan also operated Harrison Moore Realty and were frustrated by the lack of service their real estate clients received attempting to secure homeowners policies for closings. Typical of their entrepreneurial spirit they decided to take the bull by the horns and start their own agency, strictly to provide homeowners policies for closings.

Throughout the early years the insurance business steadily grew and new lines of coverage were added. In 1970 Chet and Dan purchased the Richard Daly agency and changed the name to Metro Agency, Inc. Becoming a well know name and a place where retiring agents could trust that their clients would be well cared for  they also purchased the William Krainbrink Agency during this time. Metro Agency occupied several different buildings up and down 5 Mile Rd., finally moving to a location just west of Farmington Rd. in 1975. Shortly after occupying this building Dan passed away.

In 1981 Patrick Moore joined the business. Together, Chet and Pat saw remarkable success and growth so the decision was made to close the real estate operation and focus 100% on insurance. In a few short years Metro Agency was selling most forms of insurance including Life, Home, Car and Business.

In 1988 Roger Moore joined the business after 14 years active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps. Again, throughout the 80's and early 90's the agency continued to grow and another acquisition was made, purchasing the Lloyd R. Barrier Agency in 1989. It became abundantly clear that they were outgrowing their existing building so in 1993 they purchased the former Thompson Brown Real Estate building on 5 mile.

Aaron Moore joined the business full time in 2000 after working part time during summer breaks from college. Aaron was the first of the third generation to join the family business.

Adam Moore came on board in January 2006 followed by Cory Moore in October 2013. In 2013 Metro Agency also purchased Maynes Insurance Services another highly regarded family buisness.
